As the IT of the REWE Group Austria, we work together with our more than 600 employees to develop innovative IT products and services for all our corporate divisions in Austria and abroad, setting the tone for modern trade. 

Within our CRM Data & Insights product family, you will work on projects and solutions for our existing and future data landscape. This includes topics such as data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, but also the analysis and preparation of raw data for reporting. 

As a Data Engineer in the CRM Data team, you attach great importance to ensuring that we integrate all CRM-relevant business data into our data platform, describe it, and make it easily available to our stakeholders in the Marketing & CRM area. 

Together we create the basis for data-driven decisions in REWE Groups CRM environment. 

Job Description
  • Planning, development and implementation of an optimal data architecture to provide a high-quality basis for use cases in the field of analytics and reporting 
  • Cooperation with analysts, product managers and backend developers to understand and implement data requirements 
  • Support in designing and creating new data extraction, transformation and loading processes from different data sources (on-prem & cloud) 
  • Use and ensure state-of-the-art methods to provide a future-proof and scalable platform 
  • You assist in the ongoing and upcoming modernization initiatives 
  • Find creative solutions for our challenges with your experience and by thinking out-of-the box. 
Qualifications
  • Several years of professional experience in the areas of data engineering, relational databases and SQL (ideally Oracle) 
  • Practical experience with the Snowflake Data cloud platform is a benefit 
  • Experience in the conception and creation of data models and ETL processes 
  • Experience in creating data pipelines with Kafka, StreamSets, Apache Nifi or similar tools is an advantage 
  • Technologies and topics such as Git, IaC (e.g. Terraform), CI/CD are not completely new territory for you 
  • Knowledge in the procedural programming of database systems (e.g. PL/SQL) or in the use of data transformation and modeling tools such as dbt (data build tool) 
  • Interest in modern data architectures and a passion for data 
  • You are characterized by your analytical thinking and good understanding of business processes 
  • High level of personal responsibility and ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment 
  • You have a good level of written and spoken English
